Here is a District 9 inspired Nerf Raider. I didn't get crazy with propping add ons, this was primarily paint and not much else. I always thought the white and orange of the alien weapons featured in the film were very cool.

I think the reason for the orange & white is they were actually built as tools for mining. They just happened to also make effective weapons.
