UNSC DATA FILE: New Covenant Weapon Technology

Covenant Plasma rifles were bad enough but with this new plasma weapon technology, a dangerous enemy becomes even more so. It seems the Covenant have overcome the overheating issues of their standard Type-25 Plasma rifles by utilizing a rotating barrel mechanism. Now able to fire continuous superheated ionized plasma at such an incredible rate armor and shielding is stripped off in seconds. If you were to encounter one the battle field headquarters best advice is to get behind something heavy cover and quick. Even near misses can result in severe burns and heat related trauma.

Sold to some chap in the UK.

I think I read somewhere that you take orders on these.
Can one still order them?
What do you charge per weapon?

Since I live in the Netherlands, and authority says we cannot own stuff that looks real, it will not pass costums! At least...this SF-one will, but all the others just look too real!

I wonder if you can make all these in seperate parts. You know? One only needs to click them together, or use a screwdriver. That way, it will probably make it through customs. If the parts are sent seperately, and not regognizable as parts of some prop.
And an added note that it is meant as a wallhanger.. :P

So how does one do this kind of a paintjob? I'm wondering if I could replicate that pattern with my Vortex series blasters.

THIS is the future.

How did you get the lighter purple overlay to look like squares. Did you put lace with square holes then paint over that?

Love what you've done here. Oh, I've already figured out how you did the scale effect.

This looks fantastic! When I saw the original weapom, the yellow and black just didn't seem to fit and I couldn't work out what colour scheme would. Clearly, Covenant purple was the answer! Also, that pattern is brilliant!

Thank you everyone for the nice feedback.

Again, great job! Very reminiscent of an Elite weapon!

Nice work! I was trying to figure out how to get the hex pattern on my Swarmfire done right, but I gave up. Our covenant swarmfires should mate and make a beautiful Alien Speedswarm.
ArchMageofArcane Featured By Owner Apr 29, 2012
If I get a Swarmfire could I mail it to you and with quite a payment could you do this paintjob on it? It's absolutely amazing!
DestroyerOfTheNorth Featured By Owner Feb 15, 2012  Hobbyist General Artist
.... the desc. makes me think of the halo reach plasma repeater. I allways looked at it like it would make a good (for appearance, not purpose) covenant concussion rifle. Again, though, that is just because it matches the shape....
Looks awesome, anyway and anyone who says it doesn't can be the test bed for a real version XD

HOLY MOLEY I WAS GOING TO DO THE SAME EXACT THING!?! NOW that I see this I can't wait to get started, I already have the colors! Awesome job!! WHOO!

I knew Swarmfires could be modded to look like sci-fi weapons (not Halo specifically) and you pulled it off well.

As a Halo fan, THAT IS FREAKING AMAZING. Keep up the great work! Love seeing your stuff.

Thanks everyone. The outer housing was removed for painting, the pattern was achieved using a fishnet stocking stretched over the gun. A base layer of metallic blue, then stocking and some purple thrown over the top. The metallic fleck looks a lot better in person than my image does. The gray base has a matte finish while the purple/blue is done glossy, again my photo does not capture this unfortunately.

This is very impressive. How did you do the purple dot pattern part? (I honestly have no idea how to describe it)
Ultimus5 Featured By Owner Oct 13, 2013  Hobbyist Writer
My best guess is chicken wire.
turpskadey Featured By Owner Nov 28, 2011
I've always described the Swarmfire as "the Covenenant looking one", very nice. Did you disassemble it to paint or just mask off the trigger and such?

I'm not a Halo fan, but I absolutely love those colors.
