Nerf Longshot Build Guide by meandmunch Nerf Longshot Build Guide by meandmunch
I have been asked about this a million times. I am sorry it is so basic but it's all I really can offer. Simply do your best and use your imagination. There is no right or wrong way to create a mod, just have fun!

This is awesome! You're inspiring me to go paint a gun.
The metal is “nickel,” by the way.
Keep it up!

The rear one is just there as storage, you drop the front one out and bring the rear one forward.

Hell of a shocker!! Made that comment in 2011! Take it you don't check your da account much?

Thanks for getting back to me tho! Still love this piece, not succumbed to temptation and built myself one yet, don't think the wife wants it in our home.

Her loss :D

Heh, actually I'm not the guy who made one, but I was using the post as reference for my personal project.

I just noticed nobody had answered your question so I thought "eh, they might still want to know" :P

I'm going to be making a longstrike mod similar to this in 2 weeks. Do you have any tips for making it?

I think it would be helpful if you posted a guide on how to paint. I've tried my hand at painting nerf guns, but they don't come out nearly as professional as your jobs. Sometimes I hear about "dry-brushing" or "liquid mask". I'd love to learn some tips on how you paint guns.

If you never worked it out, dismantle, and spray with primer. Works every time.

Can you tell me exactly what type of paint you use? it looks so smooth and clean, im assuming not the typical paint, also are the guns sticky after pain dries? if so, is there a way to make it less or non sticky?

You have to open up the gun (split the halves), you have access inside.

The construction is amazing, but what really makes it is the finish! Nice paintwork!

I think you've done a perfect job of enough information, even a beginner should be able to figure out how to mount and combine the pieces, learn lessons along the way, and perhaps even think of better ways or items to add. As SolTheNinja pointed out though paint color is also a hard thing to know and choose.
